School Transformation in Sanghi Vidya Niketan Tarnaka, Hyderabad
SCHOOL TRANSFORMATION PROJECT, HYDERABAD
SANGHI VIDYA NIKETAN, TARNAKA (HYDERABAD)
‘’One good conversation can shift the direction of change forever , ‘’ says Linda Lambert. So is the story of this life-changing School Transformation Project of Hyderabad . It just began over a cup of coffee where Surbhi Agarwal , an enthusiastic volunteer at the Pune project acknowledged Akansha Mishra, The Janmanch Yuva Head for having one of the greatest painting experiences . Akansha Mishra’s face lightened up when she heard from Surbhi about scaling this project to other cities. The two highly ambitious youngsters, translated their vision into reality when they started to research for school in Hyderabad . Surbhi, the Project Head of Hyderabad is greatly inspired by her beloved mother Ritu Agarwal , the Project Manager, who has always been greatly supportive . She is an independent woman who believes in serving the society, who believes in sharing with everyone.
Out of the many schools that they researched, ‘Sanghi Vidya Niketan’, a government school in Tarnaka caught their attention. This school imparts education to children who come from various backgrounds and is run by an extremely generous lady, Archana Sehgal , who was extremely co-operative and accommodating. This would have been practically impossible to achieve without the help of a bunch of joyful volunteers and with meticulously thought out designs by a team consisting of 5 core designers , Ramya, Namrata, Anushka, Vanshika and Santosh.
This Project not just brings colour to those cracked walls , but also to the colourless lives of those countless children. This project mainly centred around LKG,UKG , 1st and 2nd grade, the corridors , stage, and the sports ground . This project not only touched the hearts of the young volunteers and those little children , but also their parents who have been a constant support . On the 7th day of the project, that is the final day , you could see the happiness on the faces of those school students, they thanked them and were seen laughing eccentrically at some of the art work , while looking at the other with inquisitiveness.
Here’s a glimpse of all the colourful art work and the transition that took place in ‘Sanghi Vidya Niketan’

Finally now that you have had an slight experience of a school transformation project , why don’t you step out of your house , walk to the nearest government school , and walk around it , if you have an unexplainable feeling in your gut , Try to help these in whatever way possible , feels good seeing these young kids smile, trust me , just trust me . We never know , maybe we are not just painting a wall, but painting their future ,because colour is a power which directly influences the soul.
